So today, I had my first experience meeting Mr.  Copybot. 

Earlier today, I was in my sandbox minding my own business working on texturing prims for this new outfit I just completed and chatting in a group about accidentally deleted inventory when an avatar came up to me wearing my outfit (just the clothing textures) and stood by me.  I said “hello” to it. When it mimicked me back I called my husband to ask him if it was him.

Nope.

So I IMed the avatar and said “Listen, tell me who you are and I won’t k/b AR you”. You don’t just find my sandbox- so my thinking it was someone that was familiar with us. No answer except a stream of data regarding users nearby and their locations.

So, I took care of getting rid of it.

That is as uneventful as it can get.

Chances are, it was harmless. But in case it wasn’t here’s a picture of the item set it was wearing. I’ve been told by someone I trust that these cloning avs do not keep the items that they clone. But my best defense against my work being sold by unauthorized sellers is my customers and you fashionistas on the grid.
This specific color was what I was working on.  KessKreations will be 2 years old in March, officially. The first item I sold was a fountain set in November 2006. I’ve evaded all sorts of drama minus the BIAB that released some necklace prims I made and even that isn’t drama- just a frickin hassle. I’m hoping this will be a drama I avoid as well.
